Mr. Thompson was a son of Joseph Thompson of this place. He was in the employ of the T & A.A. R'y as brakeman, and while the exact circumstances of his death are not known, as near as we can ascertain he was making up his train in the yards at Toledo, and while making a coupling, fell in such a way that his right leg was cut off above the knee and both arms cut off. The remains were brought here Monday, and the funeral services were held Wednesday at the Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. W. R. Stinchcomb. The remains were interred in the Bly Cemetery. His death was a shocking one, and the young wife and child who are thus suddenly left without their natural protector have the sympathy of all.
