James Duane Coker
1921 - 2014

Duane as he was known was born 16 Jun 1921 in Calvin Township,  Cass County 
Michigan.   Duane was the youngest son of Wilbert Frederick Coker and Goldie 
Marie Stewart. Duane had one sibling Wilbert Kenneth Coker b. 1917. Duane 
married Frenda Nasse 10 Oct 1948. Freda preceded him in death 18 Oct 1996.  

Duane was the father of Gregory Lance Coker b. 1956, who preceded him in death 
and one daughter Linda Coker (Williams) who presently lives in China. 

James Duane Coker was a decorated soldier in World War II and had a noteworthy 
career with the Chicago Police Department as a homicide detective.

James Duane Coker, 93 passed away quietly on 22 Jun 2014 in the Veterans 
Facility in Los Angeles, California. Family and fiends gathered Thursday 24 Jul 
2014 at Noon for a Graveside Service at Calvin Community Cemetery on Mt. Zion 
Rd, Calvin Township, Cassopolis, Michigan.  Officiating the service was 
Reverend Russell Haines.  James Duane Coker was laid to rest with full Military 
Honors.
