Cornelius Lawson
1844 - 1937

Cornelius Lawson was born October 31, 1844 in NC and died March 30, 1937.  His 
parents were William Lawson and Sarah ? or Charity Revels.  They were the 
parents of six children: Cornelius, Martha A., Melinda, James, Melissa and Eva 
O. 

Cornelius Lawson was married to Marthaline Lawson.  They were the parents of 
Clarence E., Homer and William (Willie). 

Cornelius Lawson was one of the true pioneers of Calvin Township.  He was a 
Township Supervisor and Justice of the Peace for many years.  His name appears 
on my couples marriage certificates.  

Cornelius Lawson was the oldest member (84 years) of Calvin Community Chapel 
when it was formed in 1928.  Cornelius Lawson was always on the job helping 
and giving words of encouragement during the construction of Calvin Community 
Chapel.

Cornelius Lawson died at the age of 92.
