This marker is partially buried and wedged beneath a large tree. The marker is only visible in the fall of the year when foliage is absent. The multil-racial Frank Coleman was born in 1847 in Virginia. His father was Shane Holder however his mother is unknown. On his marriage application Frank indicated his age as 35. Based on his marriage date of 25 Sep 1884, Frank Coleman was actually 37 years old. He married Susan E. Sanders age 17, in Williamsville, Porter Township, Cass County Michigan. Susan Sanders, b. 18 Jul 1867 in Williamsville, Porter Township, Cass County Michigan was the daughter of Montesque C. Sanders b. 1831 in Virginia and Sarah Jane Byrd b. 1834 in North Carolina. Frank Coleman and Susan Sanders were the parents of Ray Coleman b. 4 Jul 1885 and (unknown) Coleman born 28 Dec 1889. Frank Coleman who worked as a laborer died 21 Jul 1924 at the age of 77 in Calvin Township, Cass County Michigan. Chain Lake Cemetery Additional Comments: Contributors: Maurice W.
