Anderson 1862 – 1925 The marker of John Wesley Anderson is homemade composed of poured concrete. The birth year is not correct. His first name is misspelled. The marker lies adjacent to his spouse Delilah nee Wilson Anderson. John Wesley Anderson was actually born November 10, 1861 in Cass County Michigan. The parents of John Wesley Anderson were John B. Anderson b. 1824 and Frances “Fanny” nee Allen Anderson b. 1829. Historically it is important to note John B. Anderson is the son of Ezekiel Anderson b. 1788 and Winnie Esther nee Gowan (Goen) Anderson b. 1797. The parents of Frances “Fanny” Allen b. 1831* were Joseph Allen b. 1803 and Rebecca nee Tabourn (Taborn) Allen b. 1805. *Frances nee Allen Anderson’s Mt. Zion Cemetery marker indicates 1829 as her birth year. The siblings of John Wesley Anderson were Jethro b. 1849 or 1850, Jefferson (Jeffy) b. Sep 1851, Exum b. Feb 1854, James b. 1855, Ann Geneva b. Dec 1858, Mary Ellen aka Melvina-Mellie b. Oct 17, 1859 and Helena b. Feb 1, 1865. John Wesley Anderson, age 21 married Delilah Wilson, age 19 on March 5, 1882 in the town of Williamsville, Porter Township Cass County Michigan. The Justice of the Peace was John Forbes; the witnesses were Emma Forbes and Ethel Forbes of Williamsville. The occupation of John Wesley Anderson was farmer. John Wesley Anderson and Delilah Catherine “Kit” Wilson Anderson were the parents of Adailyon Mae Anderson, b. Aug 9, 1882, Carl Bernard Anderson b. Dec 17, 1883, Elmer Anderson b. 1885 and Clarabelle Anderson b. 1886. Elmer and Clarabelle both died in infancy. John Wesley Anderson and family moved to South Bend, Indiana in 1903, where he was seriously injured. John Wesley Anderson died December 18, 1925 in a Kalamazoo Michigan hospital at the age of 64 years 1 month and 8 days.
