Mary J. Newsome was born January 25, 1850 in OH.  Her parents were Eaton 
Newsome and Rebecca Jane Wade.  

Mary J. Newsome married Joseph Cannon Ash on  May 28, 1872 in Cass Co. MI. 

Mary J. Ash and Joseph C. Ash were parents of the following children.  
Thaddeus Ash b. 20 Nov 1872 in Calvin, Cass Co., Eliza R. Ash b. 18 Apr 1875 
in Calvin Cass Co. and Rolayn Ash b. 17 Nov 1877 in Calvin, Cass Co. 

Mary J. Ash died December 10, 1877 after giving birth to Rolayn.  According to 
one researcher Mary J. Ash died at the age of 27y, 10m 15d. in Calvin, Cass 
Co. MI.
