Marker is shared with Mary J. Ash (1850-1877), the mother of Rolayn Ash, 
Infant.  The marker obelisk has toppled and is lying on the ground. 

Official documents indicate Rolayn Ash was born November 17, 1877 and died 
November 27, 1877, however the marker inscription states differently.   

Rolayn 's parents were Mary J. nee Newsome Ash and Joseph Cannon Ash.  

Mary J. Newsome and Joseph Cannon Ash were married May 28, 1872 in Calvin, 
Cass Co. They were the parents of Thaddeus Ash b. 20 Nov 1872, Eliza R. Ash b. 
18 Apr 1875 and Rolayn Ash b. 17 Nov 1877.  All children were born in Calvin 
Twp. Cass Co. MI.

According to the date inscribed on her marker Mary J. nee Newsome Ash died 
December 10, 1877.

According to the date inscribed on the marker of Infant Rolayn Ash he died 
December 11, 1877.
