Due to severe weathering this marker is extremely difficult to read.  
Additionally, only the top portion of the marker remains. This marker top 
section has been stuck into the marker footing.
 
Based on research it is believed this marker belongs to Rachel Ash.  This  
marker lies one plot north of the marker of S.C. / Sarah Ash.  A 1943 cemetery 
transcription indicates Harrison Ash, S.C wife of Harrison Ash and Rachel Ash 
were buried in the same row next to each other.
 
Rachel Ash was born in 1854 in Cass Co. MI.  Rachel was the daughter of 
Harrison Ash and Sarah nee Roberts Ash.  
 
Rachel Ash had 7 siblings including  Rosella b. 1840 in OH, Susannah b. 1843 
in OH, Asbery/Asbury b. 1845 in OH, Eliza Jane b. 1848 in OH, Martha F. b. 
1850 in MI,  Melissa b. 1857 in MI and Layfayette Ash b. 1860 in Calvin Twp. 
Cass Co. MI.  
 
No additional information is known about Rachel Ash.  
 
Rachel Ash died in 1874 at the age of 20 years.
