Marker is inscribed on both sides.  This side of marker was in the ground 
facing downward and not visible. 

E. Ligens is Elizabeth Ligens.  Henry Ligens does not appear on the 1870 
Census with Elizabeth and children.

this marker. 

Johnny Ligens was born April 29, 1868.  His parents were Henry Ligens b. 1805 
VA and Elizabeth Ligens b. 1825 in VA. 

Henry and Elizabeth Ligens were the parents of Parthena b. 1843 VA, Rufus b. 
1845 VA, Martha b. 1847 VA, Mary b. 1849 VA, Susan b. 1850 VA, Emma b. 1851 
VA, Alexander b. 1854 OH, Malinda b. 1857 OH, David b. 1858 OH, John (Johnny) 
b. 1868 MI, and Thomas b. 1870 MI.

Ligens has multiple spellings. (i.e. Liggins, Ligins, Ligans)

Johnny Ligens died April 10, 1873 at the age of 4 years 11 months and 11 days.
