Marker is shared with Mary A. nee Anderson Newsom (1830-1883) his second 
wife.  

Eaton Newsome has two markers at Chain Lake Cemetery.  This larger marker lies 
to the west of the smaller marker for Eaton Newsom.  Eaton's surname is 
spelled Newsome on the larger marker and Newsom on the smaller marker.  Other 
than the surname difference the inscription on both markers is the identical.

Eaton Newsome was born 1824 in NC.  Eaton was married two times.

Marriage #1:  Rebecca Jane Wade b. 1830 in NC.  They married March 29, 1849 in 
Logan Co. OH.  Eaton and Rebecca were the parents of Mary J. Newsom/Newsome b. 
1850 in OH. 

Marriage #2:  Mary Ann Anderson b. 1830 in Crawford Co. IL.  They married 
December 28, 1852 in Cass Co. MI. Eaton and Mary A. were the parents of James 
Newsom b. 1854, Henry C. Newsom b. 1855, Oliver J. b. 1856, Eli, b. 1857, 
Rebecca b. 1858 and Charles b. 1865. All children were born in MI. 

Eaton Newsome died November 2, 1870 at the age of 47 years.
