Marker is shared with her first husband Eaton Newsome (1824-1870).  The marker 
inscription reads Wife of William Allen.  William Allen was Mary A. nee 
Anderson Newsome's second husband.  

Mary A. Anderson was born ~1825-1830 in Crawford Co. IL.  Her parents were 
Ezekiel Anderson b. 1788 in NC and Winnie Esther Goens/Gowan b. 1797 in KY.  

Ezekiel and Winnie were the parents of 16 children. They were Jefferson B. b. 
1829, Mary Ann b. 1825, John b. 1827, Matilda b. 1830, Harriet b. 1831, 
Winnie/Winna Ann b. 1833, Andrew Jackson b. 1835, Adeline b. 1838, Ellis b. 
1840, Amon b. 1842, George, Elizabeth , Alvina, Lucinda and two unknown. 

Marriage #1:  Mary A. Anderson married Eaton Newsom/Newsome b. 1824, on 
December 28, 1852 in Cass Co. MI. They were the parents James Newsom, Henry C. 
Newsom Oliver J. Newsom, Eli Newsom, Rebecca Newsom and Charles Newsom.

Marriage #2:  Mary A. nee Anderson Newsome married William Allen b. 1832 in 
Columbiana Co. OH. They were married May 23, 1871.  Mary A. and William had no 
children together.

Note:  William Allen was previously married to Mary A. nee Anderson Newsome's 
sister Winna Ann Anderson. William Allen and Winna Ann Anderson had 8 
children.  William Allen and Winna Ann nee Anderson Allen are buried at Mt. 
Zion Cemetery, Calvin Twp. Cass. Co. MI.

Mary A. nee Anderson Newsome Allen died February 22, 1883 at the age of 54 
years.
