Sanders Dau. M.G. & S.J. Sanders Died July 26, 1876 Aged 27 YRS. 10 MOS & 6 dys. The bottom of the marker contained an illegible epitaph. Charity A. Sanders was born in 1856 in Michigan. The parents of Charity A. Sanders were Montique G. Sanders b. 1831 in VA and Sarah Jane Byrd b. 1835 in NC. Census indicates multiple spelling of Montique i.e. Montesque, Montecue and Montaque. Montique Sanders and Sarah Jane Byrd were married 2 Oct 1851. Montique and Sarah Jane were the parents of 6 sons, 11 daughters. The children were: Minerva Jane, Samuel D., Charity A., Mary (twin), Martha (twin), Daniel W., Josephine F., Charlotte E., Charles, Susan E., Ida L., John C.F., Jennie M., Lina T., Oliver C. Wm.A., and Alonzo. Charity A. Sanders died July 26, 1876 at the age of 27 years, 10 months and 6 days of consumption.
