Allen History and 1880 U.S. Census indicates Mitchel is spelled with one "L".

Chester A. Mitchel was born 1867 in MI. He was the son of James and Louisa F. 
(Eliza) Mitchel.
Viola nee Allen Mitchel was born 1871 in MI.  Viola was the dau. of Joseph 
(Jody) Allen, Jr. and Tabitha nee Newsom Allen. Chester and Viola divorced 
after the death of their child Horace Mitchell. 

Viola later married Earl Finley (Finnley) of South Bend, IN. He was a barber 
by trade.  Earl Finley d. 5 Sep 1937.  

Viola nee Allen Finley for many years was the oldest descendant attending the 
annual Allen Reunion held on the south side of Paradise Lake located in Calvin 
Twp. Viola Finley d. 9 Aug 1958.
