R. Howard Gribler was born August 22, 1898 in Van Wert, Ohio. He married Elsie 
Anderson on October 3, 1917 and had six children in all. Howard worked at the 
Toledo, Jeep (Willys) plant in the 20's and later brought his family to 
Dowagiac, MI where he became a local Merchant...owned and operated Gribler 
Crocery & Market on West Railroad St. He died February 27, 1957 an lay in 
Riverside Cemetery next to his wife of 40 years, Elsie.
