Peter Shaffer
Died:  13 July 1880  aged, 89yrs, 6 mo's & 8 days
Peter, died at the home of his son Col. George T. Shaffer, in Calvin Twp.,
of paralysis and old age, he was born in Rockinham Co. VA  Jan. 10,1791.
On March 16, 1821. he married Sarah Thomas and in 1828 came to Michigan. 
April 1832, his wife and several children joined him in Cass. Co.
Mrs.Sarah Thomas Shaffer, died, Sept 25, 1851 in her 60th year. 
Peter, was a Supervisor of Calvin in 1844, and Acting Justice fo the Peace for 
more than twenty years.
