Fred S. Falting Dies Following A Long Illness

Fred S. Falting, 77, Marion township farmer passed away early Tuesday morning at
Grandvue hospital where he had been a patient for over a year.

Mr. Falting was born in Canada March 8, 1877 and came to this country when a
small boy.

On Dec. 30, 1901 he was united to Emily Johnson in Charlevoix. Mr. Falting had
lived in Marion township since coming to the United States.

He is survived by his wife, Emily, two children, a son, Arthur of Charlevoix
route 2 and Mable (Mrs. Robert Dougherty) of Charlevoix route 1, three brothers,
Ernest of Charlevoix, Tom of Lansing and Ralph of San Francisco, one sister,
Mrs. Ida Lang of Ann Arbor, also seven  grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday at Hastings Fureral Home in Ellsworth at 2
p.m. Rev. George Majors officiating. Burial in Barnard cemetery.

Funeral Services Held Monday for Mrs. Fred Falting

Mrs Fred Falling, 86, pioneer resident of Marion township, died Thursday at the
home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr and Mrs. Arthur Falting Jr. with whom
she made her home.

Funeral services were held Monday at the Hastings funeral home in Ellsworth with
the Rev. George L. Majors officiating.   Burial was in the Barnard cemetery

Born in Sweden Apr 29. 1872. the former Emily Johnson came to Chicago as a young
woman. On Dec. 30. 1901 she was married to Mr. Falting at Charlevoix.

They had always made their  home in Marion township Mr.  Falling preceded her in
death in December 1954.

Besides her son, she is survived by one daughter. Mrs. Robert  Daugherty of
Charlevoix; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a sister. Mrs.
Augusta  Olson of Fort Morgan,  Colorado.
