John Hoonstra, 70
Dies Following
A Long Illness

John Hoonstra, 70, Marion township farmer passed away early Monday
morning in a Traverse City hospital where he had been a patient for
several months.  For the past four years he has made his home with
the Lawrence Boss family in Barnard.
Mr. Hoonstra was born in the Netherlands May 19, 1883 and came to the
United States and Marion township in 1913.  There are no known
relatives in this country but he leaves a host of friendes in this area.
Services were held Wednesday morning from the Barnard Reformed
Church with Rev. H. Diller in charge.
Burial was in Barnard cemetery.
