Mr. Ager had been in poor health for nearly two years and during that time was stricken with paralytic strokes three different times, the last resulting in his death. During these two years of illness, Mr. Ager was partially crippled and for the last six months was totally blind. But in spite of his suffering he was constantly cheerful, a spirit which won the hearts of all who knew him. Deceased was born in New York state in the year 1852 and was 75 years, one month and 17 days old at the time of death. At the age of 14, he came to Charlevoix with his parents and settled on a farm near Barnard, where he resided until eight years ago, at that time coming to Charlevoix to make his home. He was united in marriage to Miss Jennie Willis in 1882. To this union were born six children, four of whom survive, viz: William and Henry of Charlevoix, Edward of East Jordan, George of Grand Rapids, and Mrs. Ed. Heise of Charlevoix. A son, Hubert, died 22 years ago. Funeral services will be held from the home 1100 State street, at 1:00 o’clock Thursday afternoon, Rev. John E. Lockyer of the Methodist church ____________________________________ OBITUARY Mrs. J. Ager, 89 Dies Following Long Illness Mrs. Jennie Ager, 89, pioneer resident of this community, died late Saturday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edward Heise, sr. She had been in failing health for several years. Funeral services were held at the See Funeral Home Monday with the Rev. G. E. Whitten officiating. Burial was in Brookside cemetery. Born in Hampshire, England, May 12, 1862, the former Jennie Willis came to this community 74 years ago. She was married to Georie Ager who died in 1928. She was a member of the Methodist church. Surviving are three sons, Edward W. of East Jordan; William and Henry of Charlevoix; one daughter, Mrs. Heise, with whom she has been residing; a brother, Walter Willis of Mancelona; 25 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren and one great-greatgrandchild. Two sons, Herbert who lived in Charlevoix and George of Grand Rapids preceded her in death.
