Samuel R. Alexander 1868-1948 Ironton Ferry Captain made famous by Ripley's "Believe it or Not" Samuel R. Alexander married Harriet (Hattie) F. Williams on January 15,1895 in Charlevoix, Charlevoix County, Michigan. Additional Comments: Samuel R. Alexander was born March 1868 in Kentucky the son of James Alexander (born abt. 1841 in Ohio) and Rebecca Dysard/Bysard (born Feb. 06, 1845 in Kentucky). Her husband, James Alexander, died before 1900. Samuel died January 16, 1948 in Eveline Township, Charlevoix County, Michigan. Rebecca died September 30, 1914 in Eveline Township, Charlevoix County, Michigan of a cerebral embolism and is buried in Brookside Cemetery, Charlevoix, Michigan. Rebecca was age 69 years, 7 months, 25 days.
