YOUNG MOTHER IS TAKEN BY DEATH

Funeral Friday for Mrs. Gale Allen, Who Died in Lansing

Funeral services were held last Friday afternoon from the Ironton Congregational
church for Mrs. Gale Allen, whose untimely death occurred Wednesday, September
28th, at her home in Lansing.

Rev. G. R. Parker, pastor of the Charlevoix and Ironton Congregational churches,
conducted the service, and burial was at Brookside cemetery.

Bessie Bell Brown was bom at Charlevoix on July 21, 1911. She lived at Ironton
with her parents from the time she was an infant until 1929, when she went to
Lansing. On December 19, 1931, she was united in marriage to Gale Allen.

Surviving besides the husband are two infant sons, Donald Gale and Ronald Dale;
also her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Brown of Ironton; three sisters,
Mrs. Eva Peterson, Ellsworth, Mrs. Margery Solomon, Traverse City, and Agnes at
home; three brothers, Forest of Pontiac, Wilbur of Petoskey, and Percy of Ironton.

Mrs. Allen was a life-long member of the Ironton Congregational church and an
active worker. She was also active in the Ironton grange. While in Lansing she
became a worker in the Methodist Protestant church. She  was loved and respected
by all who knew her.
