Had Bean a Resident of Charlevoix for 45 Year Stricken on Street George Anderson, a resident of Charlevoix county for 45 years, died of a cerebral hemmorage Tuesday morning, January 18, while on his way to his property on Hurlbut avenue in company with William Black. He was stricken and compelled to halt twice while ascending south Bridge street hill, and upon reaching the top fell and was carried into the A. Alcox home, where he passed away before Dr. R. B. Armstrong, who had been summoned, could arrive. Mr. Anderson was 67 years of age at the time of his death. He was born on the banks of the Canadian Thames, at Motherwell, Ontario, May 24, 1853, and lived there during his boyhood and young manhood. He was married to Sarah Elizabeth Shapton in 1876 at Avonton, coming directly to Michigan and settling on a farm in the Barnard district. Dr. R. B. Armstrong bought the farm in the fall of 1909, and Mr. and Mrs. Anderson moved to this city, purchasing a home on the south side, where they have lived until the past few months. During the present winter they have made their home with their daughter, Mrs. Martin Block, on account of Mr. Anderson's poor health. Deceased is survived by two children, Mrs. George Oldham of Hibbing, Minnesota, and Mrs. Martin Block of this city, also five sisters, Mrs. Chirtina Brown, Mrs. Adeline Brown and Miss Sarah Anderson of Motherwell, Ontario, Mrs. Mary Porteous of Mitchell, Ontario, and Mrs. Samuel Torgenson of Grand Forks, North Dakota, also a brother. Will Anderson of Spokane, Washington. The date of the funeral will not be announced until the relatives have all been heard from, but it will be held from the M. E. church, of which he was a member. Rev. Henry Candler, officiating. Services at the cemetery will be conducted by the Masonic order.
