RUNAWAY ACCIDENT

Joe Blatka Suffers Severe Injuries When Team Runs Away.

Joe Blatka, who lives on the Charlevoix-East Jordan road south of Ironton, was
severely injured Tuesday when his team ran away, dragging him under the wheels.

Blatka was on his way to Charlevoix with a load of sugar beets. When going down
a hill the wagon ran on to the horses heels, causing them to run away. Blatka
fell under the wagon and sustained a broken leg and several fractured ribs.

He was taken to the Charlevoix hospital, where he is in a serious condition.

Injured Man Dies

Joseph Baletka, who was seriously injured in a runaway accident on Tuesday,
November 23, died from his injuries at the Charlevoix hospital a few days later.
The deceased leaves a wife.
