CHARLEVOIX

RESIDENT  DIES

Mrs. Mary Louise Bartholomew, 100, former resident and widow of the late L. D.
Bartholomew, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edward Carr, in Los Angeles,
Calif., on October 21. Funeral services were held at the Carr home on October
24. The body was placed in a vault and interment will be in Charlevoix in June.

Mary Louise Blanchard was born in Albion, Michigan, on April 16, 1844, and
attended the college there which was then a seminary. She came to Charlevoix in
her early married life and resided hero until going to California to make her
home about twenty-five years ago. The Bartholomews were among the first families
to settle in Charlevoix. Mr. Bartholomew for many years operated stores in
Charlevoix under the names of Carpenter and Bartholomew and later as Blanchard
and Bartholomew. Mr. Bartholomew died more than thirty years ago.

Surviving are: one daughter, Mrs. Carr; a grand-daughter, Geraldine Robinson, of
Washington, D. C.; four grandsons, William, Robinson, of Atlanta, Ga., Capt.
Leonard Bartholomew, Franklin Bartholomew and Forrest Bartholomew, all of
Chicago. A son, Forrest, died in 1924, and a daughter, Mrs. Thomas A. Robinson,
of Atlanta, Ga., in 1939.
