CLARKE John W. Clarke, 69, Levering, a former Charlevoix resident, died Feb. 25 at the Community Memorial Hospital, Cheboygan, after a brief illness. Funeral services were held Monday, Mar. 1, by Rev. Raymond McBratnie at the Winchester Funeral Home with burial at Brookside Cemetery. Surviving are his wife Carol; sons, John R. of Charlevoix and Channing of Pontiac; daughter, Mrs. John Chesman of Detroit; brother, Sims of Los Angeles, Calif.; sister, Mrs. Ronald Reid of Whitmore Lake and nine grandchildren. He was born in Norwood Township. In 1935 he left Charlevoix and lived in Flint and Detroit before moving to Levering in 1947. He was a carpenter and farmer and member of the BPOE in Cheboygan.
