Cline 1916-1943 George O. Cline was born Jun. 28, 1916 at Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, USA George O. Cline married Mary Slack of Chicago,on February 7, 1941. George O. Cline died 1943 at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. OBITUARY Courtesy Charlevoix Library Obituaries Charlevoix Courier ACCIDENT FATAL TO SGT. GEORGE CLINE Military Funeral Held Tuesday At Christ Church Sgt. George O. Cline, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur A. Cline, of this city, died early Saturday at Camp Campbell, Ky., as the result of injuries received in an airplane crash which occurred near that camp on April 29. Born at Chicago, June 28, 1916, George attended Chicago public schools and Northwestern University at Evanston, 1Ill. After enlisting in the army air corps in January, 1942, he was at Jefferson Barracks, Mo., then was an instructor in aeronautical mechanics at Chanute Field, Ill. Following a short .period at Lincoln, Nebr., he was assigned to liaison work and was at various camps in the south before going to Camp Campbell. He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Slack of Chicago, to whom he was married February 7, 1941; his parents, a sister, Miss Helen Rose Cline, of Chicago, and uncle, A. A. Wilbur, of Chicago. Funeral services with military honors were held at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning at Christ Episcopal church in this city, with Rev. Fr. Clarence Parker, of Petoskey, officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Lt. Comdr. Edward K. Shanahan, U.S.N., Cpl. Franklin Olm-stead, Pvt. Donald Mcggison, Seaman second class John Bissel, Seaman second class Donald Carey and Pvt. Don McTaggaet, who accompanied the body from Campbell Field. Burial was at Brookside cemetery. ______________________________________________ Kentucky Death Records Name: George O.
