L.W. Crandell, 30 Dies Following A Long Illness

Loren W. Crandell, 30, veteren of World War II, died Jan. 27 at a Veterans
Hospital in Chillicothe, Ohio, where he had been a patient for some time. He had
been in ill health since he was a prisoner of war in Germany during World War II.

Funeral services were held at the Pontius Chapel Sunday afternoon with the Rev.
Harold E. Kohn officiating. Burial was in Brookside cemetery.

Born in Duluth, Minn., he was a student at the University of Minnesota when he
entered the service. As a child he spent a great deal of time here.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys; a daughter, DeeEtte and his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Verle Crandell, all of Hebron, Ohio, and his aunt, Mrs. Arthur Wexstaff of
Charlevoix. His father is a former local resident.
