OBITUARY
G. W. Dennis, 90 Passes After Long Illness

George Washington Dennis, 90, resident of this community for 50 years, died
early Saturday morning at the Lalonde Convalescent Home after an extended illness.

Funeral services were held at the See Funeral Home at 2 p. m. Tuesday with Rev.
W. D. Wood officiating. Burial was in the Brookside cemetery.

Mr. Dennis was born in Lisbon, N. Y. on Sept. 8, 1858 and as a young man went
west. He was married to Lenora Ellen Denbow in Iowa on Nov. 20, 1881 and they
lived in North Dakota before coming here in 1898. He lived on a farm in
Charlevoix township where he had served as Road Commissioner and Justice of the
Peace. He has also been a member of the Masonic lodge. His wife preceded him in
death in Oct. 1935.

He is survived by three sons, Walter of Grand Rapids, Leroy and Earl of Lansing;
two daughters, Miss Musa Dennis and Mrs. Henry Stephan of Charlevoix; six
grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

OBITUARY
WELL KNOWN WOMAN IS TAKEN BY DEATH

Mrs. G. W. Dennis Succumbed at Charlevoix Hospital Saturday

Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon from the Seef Funeral
Home for Mrs. G. W. Dennis, beloved local woman, who died Saturday evening at
Charlevoix Hospital, following an illness of two months.

Rev. W. J. French, of Toledo, O., conducting special meetings at the Church of
God, was the officiating pastor, and interment was at Brook-side cemetery.

Lenora Denbow was born June 14, 1856. She spent her girlhood days at Albion, Ia.
She had been a resident of this city many years.

Surviving are George W. Dennis and five children: Walter A. Dennis, Grand
Rapids; Leroy A. Dennis, Cleveland, O.; Earl W. Dennis and Musa Dennis, Lansing;
Mrs. Henry Stephan, this city.
