Helms Webster Helms married Margaret Fairchild (1851-1923) OBITUARY HAYES PIONEER IS VICTIM OF HEART FAILURE Webster Helms Died Last Week at Age of 71 Years A pioneer resident of Hayes died last week at his home from the effects of heart disease and will be sadly missed by his many friends. Webster Helms was bom in Howell, Michigan, April 2, 1847, and had he lived until April 2, 1918, he would have been 71 years of age. He moved to Howell with his parents, when but a young boy, into Gratiot county, which was then nothing but a wilderness and here he was united in marriage to Miss Margaret Fairchild. To this union were born three children—Mrs. Mary E. Folander, of MacLeod, Alberta, Canada, Bert Helms and Mrs. Lulu Monty, of Charlevoix. Mr. Helms had been a resident of Hayes and Barnard for fifteen years. Besides his three children, his wife and nine grandchildren survive him. The funeral was held Friday, Rev. C. E. Taggart officiating, and the remains interred in Brookside.
