Raymond J. Hodson
Raymond J. Hodgson, 85, of Charlevoix, and Sanibel Island, Fla. died Nov. 23,
1989, at his home in Sanibel.

Funeral was Thursday, Nov. 30, at the Winchester Funeral Home, Charlevoix. The
Rev. Philip G. Schairbaum of the First Congregational Church officiated. Burial
was in Brookside Cemetery, Charlevoix.

Mr. Hodgson was born March 14, 1904, in Stewartville, Minn., the son of Frank
and Jennie (Marshall) Hodgson. He graduated from the University of Michigan in
1929. In 1930, he married the former Elizabeth G. Chisholm and she preceded him
in death on Oct. 11,1985.

Mr. Hodgson was an examiner in the Michigan State Banking Department from
1928-29; was in the auditing department of Detroit Trust Co. 1930-32; Detroit
Loan Agency, Reconstruction Finance Corp. 1933-41, (manager from 1938-41);
president, Graham Paige Motors Corp. 1942-45; vice president National Bank of
Detroit 1945-69; director, Penobscot Building Inc. in Detroit; director and
treasurer of the Central Business District Assoc. in Detroit; director and
member of the executive committee, Citizens Redevelopment Corp. and Detroit
International Riverama Inc.; vice president and treasurer Cincinnati Garage Co.;
director Capac Industries, Inc.; director, Ever-Sharp-Schick Inc., New York;
director Durand Corp., Racine, Wis.; director and past president Michigan AAA.

He is survived by: one son, Richard M. Hodgson of Charlevoix and Sanibel Island,
Fla.; three grandsons, Richard, Eric and Mark; two sisters, Laura Woodruff of
Tavares, Fla. and Francis Oliver of Stewart, Fla.

Contributions may be donated to a favorite charity or the American Heart
Association. Envelopes for those purposes are available at the Winchester
Funeral Home, Charlevoix.
