JACOBS SHOCK TO COMMUNITY End Came to Wife of Local Merchant Without Warning—Funeral Held Sunday. The entire city was greatly shocked and grieved last Friday evening when it was learned that Mrs. Henry Jacobs had passed away very suddenly at her home on State street. Mrs. Jacobs had been in rather poor health for some time, but it was not thought that her condition was at all serious, and her sudden death was a great shock to her many relatives and friends. The funeral occurred Sunday at 2 o'clock at the home, the Rev. Quinton Walker officiating. Those in attendance from outside were Mrs. Jacob's brother, Wirt, of Pontiac, and Mrs. Jacobs' brother, Alfred, and niece, Lillian Durgan, of Columbiaville. Susie Durgan was born in Dur. In 1884, after her mother's death, ganville, New York, April 28, 1873, she came to Michigan to live with her sister, Mrs. Lizzie Shatuck. On May 15, 1891, she was united to Mr. Henry Jacobs at West Branch. They came to Charlevoix in October, 1894, and have since resided here. Four children were born to them, Dannie, who died in infancy, Harold and Kenneth of this city, and Mrs. Glenn Ellis, of Petoskey. Mrs. Jacobs was a member of the Methodist church, an earnest Chris tian woman, and beloved by all who knew her. Her influence was always on the side of right and she made herself a power for good in the community in which she lived. The bereaved husband and children have the sympathy of the entire city in their sorrow. Obituary Courtesy Charlevoix Library Obituaries NOTE: The obituary reads she was born in Dur.
