Funeral services will be held at the Winchester Funeral home at 2 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Robert J. Yonkman officiating. Burial will be in Brookside cemetery. Born in Hamden, Ohio, Nov. 18, 1876, the former Delia R. Ish came to Gaylord as a child and later lived in Marquette before coming to Charlevoix in 1914. In 1905 she was married to Allen Jeffery who preceded her in 1935. In the early 1930's they built the Moonlight Garden night spot on US 31 north which she continued to operate until recent years. In 1945 she was married to Richard Lomas who died in April 1959. She was a member of Christ Episcopal church. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Paul Berandt of Marquette; a son, Theo, of East Jordan; four grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Andrew Falk of Manistee and Mrs. Bertha Vincent of Gaylord. _____________________________________________________________________________ OBITUARY Allen T. Jeffery Charlevoix Courier January 16, 1935 CHARLEVOIX LOSES PROMINENT CITIZEN Allan T. Jeffery Died Wednesday After Extended Illness Allan T. Jeffery, well known business man and resident of this city 22 years, died Wedensday afternoon at Lockwood Hospital, Petoskey, following an extended illness. Deceased was born October 7, 1874, at Ithaca, Mich., the son of Alanson and Ida Jeffery. He resided with his parents in San Antonio, Texas, and at Gaylord, where he was married May 18, 1901, to Delia Ish. Shortly after their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Jeffery moved to Big Bay in the upper peninsula, where Mr. Jeffery held a responsible position in a large lumber mill, an occupation he also followed in Gaylord. They moved to Charlevoix about 22 years ago. Mr. Jeffery operated a poultry business and later the Moonlight Gardens, popular local entertainment place, of which he was owner and manager at his death. Surviving are the widow, two sons, Floyd of Hamilton, 0., and Theo at home; a daughter, Miss Carrie Munson of Marquette; a brother, Harry Jeffery of Springfield, Ill.
