She had been in failing health for several months. Funeral services were held at the Pontius Chapel Monday with the Rev. Lloyd M. Schloop officiating. Burial was in Brookside cemetery. Mrs. Kane, the former Emma Wakefield, was bom in Charlevoix June 5, 1901, the daughter of John and Charlotte Kay Wakefield. In 1927 she was married to Mr Kane at Petoskey. They returned to make their home in Hayes township. She was a member of the Charlevoix Rebekah lodge.Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Herbert P. and Sam Eugene of Charlevoix; four daughters, Mrs. Frank (Thurl) Case of Sandusky, Mrs. Harry (Belma) Webster of Detroit, Mrs. William (Helen) Shaw of East Jordan and Mrs. Richard (Glennie) Batchelder of Grand Rapids and four grandchildren.
