Rites Friday

Services for Mrs. Clara E. Knowles, 55, of Petoskey will be held Friday at the
Emmanuel Episcopal Church of Petoskey at 2 p.m. Rev. James. Hempstead will
officiate. Interment will be in the Brookside Cemetery in Charlevoix. Mrs.
Knowles died Wednesday night at Little Traverse Hospital.

She was born Clara E. Hosler in Charlevoix on April 30, 1921, and attended
Charlevoix schools.

She married Donald Carmer in Virginia in 1956 and they made their home in
Muskegon. Mr. Carmer preceded her in death in 1960. In 1960 she married George
Knowles in Charlevoix where the couple made their home until the early 1960's
when they moved to Petoskey. Mr. Knowles preceded her in death in Feb., 1925.

Mrs. Knowles was employed at Little Traverse Hospital as a nurse's aide for the
past seven years. She was a member of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church of Petoskey.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Lucinda) Ward of Muskegon; two
sisters, Mrs. Gerald (Betty) Ficldstra of Traverse City and Mrs. Marvin
(Lucille) Postmus of Hudsonville and eight grandchildren.

The body is at Stone Funeral Home where friends may call tonight (Thursday)
beginning at 7 p.m.
