Knudsen, 84, who died Wednesday at her home here, were held Saturday at the Winchester Funeral Home. The Rev. William Harmon of Cheboygan, former pastor of the Ironton Congregational church, officiated. Interment was in Brookside cemetery. The former Jessie E. Hunter was born in Bellaire July 25, 1891, and was married to John E. Knudsen in Eveline township April 10, 1912. Mr. Knudsen preceded her in death in July 1954. A year later she moved from their Eveline township farm to her present home in Charlevoix. She was a life member of the Ironton Congregational church, the Rock Elm Grange and the Ironton Grange. She is survived by two sons, Douglas G. of East Jordan and Karl K. of Milwaukee, Wis.; four daughters, Mrs. Carl (Edna) Anderson of Charlevoix, Mrs. Joseph (Mildred) Shores of Port Washington, Wis., Mrs. Roy (Marjorie) Plum of Stanton and Mrs. Calvin (Rena) Plum of Long Lake, Minn; 15 grandchildren; 12 greatgrandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Clare (Mabel) Haff of Grand Rapids. ________________________________________________________________________________OBIT UARY John E. Knudsen Lifelong Area Resident Passes John E. Knudsen, 64, lifelong resident of Eveline township and H. J. Heinz Co. representative in this area, died unexpectedly at his home early Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at the Pontius Chapel at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) with the Rev. George L. Majors officiating. Burial will be in Brookside cemetery. Born at Ironton in Eveline township Oct. 11, 1889, he had resided at his present home for the past 60 years. In 1912 he was married to the former Jessie E. Hunter. For the past 18 years he had been associated with the Charlevoix Pickle Co. and the H. J. Heinz Co. At the time of his death he represented the latter company’s interests in this area. He also had been active in township affairs and had served as township treasurer and justice of the peace at various times. He was a member of the Congregational church of Ironton and the Rock Elm Grange.
