Hospital Worker Dies Suddenly

Richard A. Lomas, 54, orderly at the Charlevoix hospital for the past nine
years, died unexpectedly at his home on May st. Sunday afternoon.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Winchester funeral home with the
Rev. Robert J. Yonkman officiating. Burial was in Brookside cemetery.

Born in England, Jan. 8, 1905, Mr. Lomas. had come to the United States as a
young man. He had come to Charlevoix during the summer for several years prior
to his marriage to the former Mrs. Delia Jeffery at Baltimore, Md., in 1945.
They had made their home here since then. He had been on the staff of the
Charlevoix hospital for more than nine years. He was a member of Christ
Episcopal church.

Besides his wife he is survived by a step-daughter, Mrs. Carrie Berandt of
Marquette; a step-son, Theo Jeffery of East Jordan and his mother and sister in
England.
