John Macey, 78, Former Norwood Resident Passes

John Macey, 78, a native of Norwood township, died Tuesday at the Masonic Home
at Alma
where he had been living for the past eight years.

The body has been returned to the Winchester Funeral Home here for services
tentatively scheduled for 2 p. m. Friday.  Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery.

Bom in Norwood township Jan. 12, 1879, Mr. Macey has always resided in this
community. For many years he was employed as gardener at the Bluebird cottage.
He never married. He had been a life member of the Charlevoix F. & A. M. lodge
No. 282 since 1949. He had lived at the Masonic home in Alma for eight years.

He is survived by a brother, Eugene Macey of Spokane, Wash.; a sister, Mrs. Fred
White of Mt. Clemens; a nephew, Charles Powell of Columbia, S. C., and a niece,
Mrs. Fannie Fischer of Detroit.
