Martin Funeral services for Mrs. Walter M. Martin, 79, who died Thursday at her Meech Street home, were held at the Wlnchester Funeral Home Saturday. The Rev. Raymond Giffin officiated. Interment was In Brookside cemetery. Mrs. Martin, the former Floye A. Gilson, was born at Coloma Aug. 17,1897, and was married to Mr. Marlin at Niles in 1916. They lived there for a short time before going to Detroit where they made their home until coming to Charlevoix in 1972. Mr. Martin preceded her in death on Feb. 3, 1977. She waa a member of the First Congregational Church. Surviving are a son, Dr. Robert G. Martin of Charlevoix; one daughter, Mrs. Ray (Jeanne) Gustafson of Ypsilanti; six grandchildren ; four great-grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Lynn Weaver of Niles, Mrs. Mae Dodson of South Bend, Ind., and Mrs. Charles Wojta of Wisconsin. The family suggests that anyone wishing to honor her memory may contribute in her name to the Charlevoix Area Hospital. Additional Comments: WALTER M. MARTIN Funeral services for Walter M Marlin, 80, who died Thursday at the Charlevoix Area Hospital where be had been a patient for a month, were held Feb. 5 at the Winchester Funeral Home. The Rev. Raymond Griffin officiated. Interment was in Brookside cemetery Mr. Martin was born in Niles Jan. 21, 1897, and was married to the former Floye Gilson in 1916. For many years he was employed as a store front designer at the Cadillac Glass Co. in Detroit. They moved to Charlevoix to make their home five years ago. He was a member of the First Congregational Church. He is survived by a son. Dr. Robert G. Martin of Charlevoix, a daughter, Mrs. Roy (Jeanne)Gustafson of Ypsilanti; six grand-children, four great-grandchildren; a brother.
