Miss Meggison was born in Charlevoix in 1886, the daughter of William D. and Mary Jane (Simpson) Meggison. She left Charlevoix in 1920 to pursue a career in teaching and had taught in Jackson for many years. The deceased was a member of the United Methodist Church in Jackson for over 60 years and an active participant in the choir and women's association. She was also a member of the Retired Teachers' Association. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. The Weatherby Funeral Home in Jackson was in charge of arrangements. Interment will be in Brookside Cemetery. =============================================================================== GRACE G. MEGGISON OBITUARY Courtesy Charlevoix Library Grace J. Meggison, a former Charlevoix school teacher, died February 29 at Vista Grande Villa in Jackson, shere she had lived for many years. After moving to Jackson, Miss Meggison and her sister, Ella, spent several summers in Charlevoix. Ella Meggison is her sister's only survivor. The deceased was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Jackson, where memorial services were held March 5. The Reverend George Chaffee officiated. She was also a member of the Methodist Women of Jackson, the Michigan Education Association, the National Education Association, and the Retired Teachers Association.
