LAWRENCE K. MONTGOMERY

Lawrence K. (Monty) Montgomery, 93, a resident of Charlevoix for the past 25
years, died March 5 at Grandvue Medical Care Facility where he had been a
patient for six weeks. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery. Funeral services
will be announced later.

Mr. Montgomery was born in Hope, Ark. on April 6, 1887. On June 12,1918, he was
married to the former Ruth I. Howe in Detroit. They resided in the Detroit area
and Brighton until coming to Charlevoix in 1950. They made their home in Oyster
Bay. He had been an automobile salesman until his retirement. Mrs. Montgomery
preceded him in death on May 16,1977. He was a veteran of World War I having
served with the Polar Bear Expeditionary Forces in Russia. He was a member of
Christ Episcopal Church and Charlevoix V.F.W. Post No. 1153.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. W.R. (Jeanne) Wood of Charlevoix and Phoenix;
a son, Lawrence K.
