Nancy Lloyd was born in Bellville, Ontario, in 1849. She came to Charlevoix with her parents in the very early pioneer days. Shortly after she was united in marriage to Augustus Munson. The couple located on a farm near Holy Island, later moving to Ironton, where Mrs. Munson has since resided. Mr. Munson died in 1914. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Carrie Bird, Charlevoix, and Margaret Munson, Jackson; also two brothers residing in North Dakota; a sister living in Oklahoma; Mrs. Will Sauher of Brown City, who has lived with the family since a small child, and four grandchildren. Rev. G. R. Parker conducted funeral services at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon. Interment was at Brookside. Mrs. Munson was a charter member of the Ironton Congregational church. __________________________________________________________________________ OBITUARY Charlevoix Courier AUGUST MUNSON ANOTHER PIONEER GONE Augustus Munson Had Lived in Charlevoix County for Fifty Years. In the death of Augustus Munson, which occurred at the home of his son-in law,William L. Bird, Sunday night, Charlevoix county looses one of its earliest pioneers and industrious farmers. Mr. Munson was born in Sweden and at the age of 18 came to the United States. Later he came to Charlevoix county and settled at Ironton, where he has made his home for the past fifty years. Mr. Munson was 82 years of age at the time of his death, which was caused by a stroke of apoplexy. He leaves to mourn his loss, an aged widow, two daughters and an adopted daughter. Funeral services were held from the house Wednesday morning at 10:30, Rev. C. F Taggatt, officiating. The remains were laid to rest in Brookside cemetery.
