OBITUARY
Michael Perish, 82, died July 3, 1998 at Bortz. Health Care of  Traverse City.
Mr. Perish was born Nov. 13, 1915 in Hibbing, Minn., the son of Wasyl and Tcna
(Yacio) Perish. On Oct. 5, 1940, he married the former Doris I. Lchncr in
Lansing. He attended Hibbing Junior College in Minnesota and then Flint General
Motors Institute and was an automotive engineer in quality control management.
He was employed by Oldsmobilc and later by the John Bean Corporation, both in
Lansing. He retired from the Ford Motor Company in Allen Park in 1973.

He made his home in Traverse City in 1981. After retiring, Mr. Perish enjoyed
volunteering, and served with the Agency on Aging of Northwest Michigan and had
been appointed by Governor Milliken to the State Agency on Aging. He was a
member of Cherryland Hi 12. Plymouth Rock Lodge #47 - F & AM, Scottish
Rites-Valley of Cincinnati, the Moslem Temple of Detroit, Tau Beta Pi of
Knoxvillc, Tcnn.. Mensa and Internel. He also enjoyed cabinet-making.

Mr. Perish is survived by his wife. Doris, of Traverse City; daughter Kay Beatty
and her husband. Scott, of Charlevoix; two grandchildren, Jesse and Alison
Beatty; a sister, Evelyn Morrison of Tucson, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

At Mr. Perish's request, there will be no services. Memorial contributions may
be made to the Salvation Army.

The family is being served by the Winchester Funeral Home in Charlevoix.

Doris L Perish: Feb. 17,1915 - Oct 9,2003
Doris I. Perish. 88. of Charlevoix, and formerly of Traverse City, died
Thursday, Oct 9,2003.* Grandvue Mcdical Care Facility in East  Jordan.

She was born Feb. 17. 1915, in North Star, the daughter of Edwin and Charlotte
(Bayley) Lehner.

In 1940. Doris married Michael Perish in Lansing and he preceded her in death in
1998.

She is survived by her daughter Kathleen "Kaye" and her husband Scott Beatty of
Charlevoix; grandchildren, Jesse and his wife Jessi Beatty of Detroit and Alison
Beatty of Charlevoix.

Doris loved her children and daughter and grandchildren. Private family services
are to be held. The family was served by the Winchester Funeral Horne in
Charlevoix.
