Raby 1890-1986 Obituary Hazel Raby Graveside services for Mrs. Hazel Raby, 97, former Charlevoix resident, were held Tuesday at Brookside Cemetery. The Rev. David W. Yingling of the United Methodist Church officiated. Visitation was at the Winchester Funeral Home Monday evening. Mrs. Raby died Saturday, Aug. 9, at a Munising nursing home. Born in St. Ignace June 16, 1889, the former Hazel O'Brien was married in 1914 to James Gordon Raby. They made their home in Charlevoix. He died in Europe while serving with the Canadian Army during World War I. She continued to make her home here until moving to the Upper Peninsula about 1980. In recent years she had been confined to the Munising Nursing Home. Mrs. Raby had been a seamstress and had been employed as a domestic. She is survived by four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to the National Kidney Foundation or the Michigan Heart Association.
