Scroggie 1871-1914 Thomas J. Scroggie was born in Vermont March 15, 1870, and was 43 years of age at his death. He was killed an a train accident with 3 other persons on the Jackson-Saginaw division of the Michigan Central three miles north of Jackson between a passenger train and a freight. Eighteen were injured. The blame for the wreck rests entirely with the crew of the freight train states M. T. Wright, division superintendent of the railroad. They admitted it as they overlooked the passenger train. He was survived by his wife and two daughters (Beatrice and Bernice), two brothers (Wm. Scroggie and Dean Scroggie) and two sisters (Mrs. Wm.
