Joseph Sidorowicz was born 1872 in Russia's  Ukraine, Odessa, Russia
Joseph Sidorowicz married Sophia Nowakowski in Detroit, Michigan IN 1909.






OBITUARY
JOSEPH SIDOROWICZ

Major Joseph Sidorowicz, a 92-year-old retired U. S. Army officer who was born
in Russia's Ukraine and attended that country's Imperial Military Academy, was
buried in Brookside Cemetery Dec. 8. He died Dec. 4 at Charlevoix Hospital after
a lingering illness.

Major Sidorowicz came to the U. S. in 1896 and joined the U. S. Army during the
Spanish-American War. He retired from active duty in 1922. He has lived in
Charlevoix for the last 34 years.

He was a member of the Charlevoix VFW and American Legion.

Surviving are his widow, the former Sophia Nowakowski, whom he married in
Detroit in 1909, and a son, Thaddeus of Detroit.

Military funeral services were held at the Winchester Funeral home with Rev. R.
J. McBratnil officiating.
