(Maude) Smith, 67, who died March 18 at the Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, were held Friday at the Winchester Funeral Home. Rev. Richard Bartlett of the Traverse City Community Church of God officiated. Interment was in Brookside Cemetery. Born in Paulding, Ohio, March 29,1913, the former Maude Connin was married January 26, 1932, to Mr. Smith at Paulding where they made their home until moving to Hayes Township north of Charlevoix in 1950. Mr. Smith preceded her in death in 1974. She was employed at American Mold Engineering Co. until she retired in 1964. She was a member of the Petoskey Friendship Center. She is survived by two sons, George H. of Charlevoix and James I. of Hayes Township; a daughter, Mrs. Elden (Lois A.) Christensen of Greenville; six grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren; three brothers, Harry of Paulding, Ohio, and Curtis and Clarence of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and a sister, Mrs. Gretchen Parrish of Traverse City. The family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society or the Petoskey Friendship Center. OBITUARY Carl C. Smith Funeral services for Carl C. Smith, 78, of Hayes township, who died Saturday at Little Traverse Hospital in Petoskey where he had been a patient for 2 1/2 weeks, were held at the Winchester Funeral Home Tuesday. The Rev. William P. Seibert of the Community Church of God officiated. Burial was in BrooksIde cemetery. Born in Paulding, Ohio, Mar. 19, 1896, Mr. Smith was an elementary school teacher in Paulding until he retired and moved to his present home in Hayes township in 1949. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War I. In 1932 he was married to the former Maude Connin. He was a member of the Community Church of God. He is survived by his wife; two sons, George H. of Charlevoix and James S. of Hayes township; a daughter, Mrs. Eldon (Lois) Christensen of Greenville and six grandchildren.
