OBITUARY

Mrs. Stephan

Funeral for Mrs. Henry Stephan, 80, was held at the Winchester Funeral Home
Sunday, Feb. 21, the Rev. Thomas Rash of the Church of the Nazarene officiating.
Burial was in Brookside Cemetery.

Mrs. Stephan died Feb. 18 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing. She had made her home
in Lansing since 1967.

The former Marilda Dennis was born Nov. 23, 1890, at Edwards, N.Y., and moved to
Charlevoix in 1898 with her family.

She was married to Henry Stephan in August, 1912, and they lived in Lansing for
several years before returning to Charlevoix in the 1930's. Mr. Stephan died in
March of 1966.

She is survived by a sister, Musa Dennis, of Lansing, and a brother, Walter
Dennis of Grand Rapids.

Obituary
Mr. Henry Stephan

Funeral for Henry Stephan, 75, was held at Winchester Funeral Home at March 22,
the Rev. George Majors of the Church of God officiating. Burial was in Brookside
Cemetery.

Mr. Stephan died Saturday at Charlevoix Hospital where he had been a patient for
two weeks. He had been in ill health for some time.

Born in Drenthe in southern Michigan on June 2, 1890, he came to Ellsworth as a
child. He married the former Marilda E. Dennis Aug. 12, 1912, and they lived in
Lansing until 1921 when they returned north to live in Charlevoix Township.

MR. STEPHAN owned and operated a service station at the intersection of US - 31
South and the Barnard Road until 1949.

He was a member of the Farm Bureau and was active in township politics, having
served as a member of the township zoning board.

Besides his widow, he is survived by a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Lamper of Grand
Rapids.
