'Billie' (Yahr) Sutton Arvilla C. "Billie" (Yahr) Sutton, 78, of Charlevoix, died Dec. 31,1992, in Charlevoix. Funeral was held Saturday at the Winchester Funeral Home in Charlevoix. The Rev. Bruce E. Hamilton of the Community Church of God officiated. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, Charlevoix. She was born March 16,1914, in Hayes Township, the daughter of Frederick and Sophia (Mia) Yahr. She attended Murray School and was a lifelong resident of the area. She was employed as an assembly line worker for Essex Wire in Boyne City for eight years, retiring in 1978. She distributed the Petoskey News-Review until 1985. She married Rockliff M. Sutton Sept.11, 1937, in Charlevoix and he survives. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons, Richard M. and his wife Jean, and Arthur F. and his wife Patricia, both of Charlevoix, Donald W. and his wife Acelia of Petdskey, and Andrew D. and his wife Bessie of Boyne City; two daughters, Mrs. Howard (Wanda M.) Barraw of Central Lake and Mrs. Jerry (Donna L.) Himebauch of Charlevoix; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one-great-great-grandchild; one sister, Margaret Stewart of Charlevoix; and one brother, Charles Yahr of Ionia. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family. Arrangements were handled by the Winchester Funeral Home, Charlevoix. ______________________________________ Rockliff M. 'R.M.' S Rockiiff M. "R.M." Sutton, 83, of Charlevoix, died Jan. 17, 1997, at Boulder Park Terrace Nursing Home in Charlevoix. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, at the Winchester Funeral Home in Charlevoix. The Rev. Bruce E. Hamilton will officiate, and burial will take place in Brookside Cemetery, Charlevoix. Mr. Sutton was born Aug. 28, 1913, in Charlevoix, the son of Rockliff M. Sutton and Carrie Henderson. He attended Charlevoix schools. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Sutton Was a mason by trade and worked on the construction of the Mackinac Bridge. He was employed by Swanson Construction of Charlevoix, then by the Petoskey News-Review for 10 years, retiring in 1978. He was an avid fisherman. On Sept. 11,1937, he married Arvilla C. "Biilie" Yahr in Charlevoix. She preceded him in death on Dec. 31, 1992. Survivors include four sons and their wives, Richard and Jean Sutton of Charlevoix, Arthur and Pat Sutton of Charlevoix, Donald and Acelia Sutton of Petoskey, and Andrew and Betsy Sutton of Boyne City; two daughters and their husbands, Donna and Jerry Himebauch of Charlevoix, and Wanda and Howard Barraw of Central Lake; a brother, Burton Sutton, of Homosassa Springs, Fla.; two sisters and their husbands, Jessie and Harry Howard of New Port Richey, Fla., and Leona and George Lord of Harrison, Mich.; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. today, Jan. 20, at the Winchester Funeral Home, in Charlevoix. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan.
