Taylor Services Held For Mrs. W. E. Taylor. Lifelong Resident Mrs. Walter E. Taylor, 69, life-long resident of this community, died Thursday at the Turk Convalescent home in Petoskey where she had been a patient for five months. She had been in failing health for several years. Funeral services were held at the Pontius Chapel Saturday with the Rev. Lloyd M. Schloop officiating. Burial was in Brookside cemetery. Born in the Barnard community Aug. 22, 1886. the former Ella Matchett, daughter of Robert and Eleanor Burns Matchett, was married to Mr. Taylor Feb. 19. 1913 and always resided !n Charlevoix. She was a member of the First Methodist church. Besides her husband she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Bud Gebeau of Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Robert Kelley of Bay City and Mrs. Claire C. Martin of Charlevoix: three grandchildren and three brothers, Adelbert of North Miami, Fla., and Robert and Frank of this city. OBITUARY - Walter E. Taylor W.E. Taylor Walter E. Taylor, 81, died Thursday at Charlevoix Hospital where he had been a patient since April 13. He was born March 16, 1888 at Manistee and came to Charlevoix in 1905. On February 19, 1913 he married the former Ella Matchett who proceeded him in death in February, 1956, Mr. Taylor was associated with the Wood Brothers Hardware for most of the 40 years prior to his retirement. He attended the First Methodist Church. Survivors Include:three daughters, Mrs. William (Virginia) Gebeau, of Rogers City, Mrs. Robert E. (Dorothea) Kelley, of Bay City and Mrs. Claire C. (Elaine) Martin, of Charlevoix and four grandchildren. Services were held Saturday from the Winchester Funeral Home.
