Young 1889-1978 Birth: Dec. 14, 1889 Death: Nov. 19, 1978 Irene Young Funeral services for Mrs. Earl A. (Irene E.) Young, 88, who died Sunday at her home here, were held Tuesday at the Winchester Funeral Home. The Rev. Raymond Giffin of the First Congregational Church officiated. Interment was in Brookside cemetery. The former Irene E. Harsha was born In Charlevoix Dec, 14, 1889, She was married to Mr. Young on Sept. 21,1915. She was widely known as an artist, especially for her water colors. Her first edition of her map of the Grand Traverse region has become a collector's Item. Mr. Young preceded her in death In May 1975. She was a member of the First Congregational Church, a life member of the Charlevoix Women's Club and a member of the Petosega chapter of the Daughters of American Revolution. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. George (Marguerite) Currie and Mrs. Robert (Louise) Gill of Charlevoix and Mrs. John (Virginia) Abbott of Franklin; a son, Drew Young of Charlevoix; 13 grandchildren; l0 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Katherine Slaughter of Mt. Pleasant and Mrs. Amy Bankson of Mobile, Ala. The family suggests memorials to the First Congregational Church or a charily of your choice.
