Vera Zillmer OBITUARY

Vera Zillmer, 89, of Charlevoix. died Saturday, 

Nov. 16. 1996, at the home of her granddaughter, Vera Keie.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Nov. 19. at Winchester Funeral
Home in Charlevoix. The Rev Dale P. Ostema of the Charlevoix United Methodist
Church officiated. 
Burial will be in the spring at Brookside Cemetery  in Charlevoix.
Vera was born on Aug 29, 1907, in Charlevoix, the daughter of Samuel and Mary
(Hansen) Halverson.
She graduated from Charlevoix County Normal in 1925. She enjoyed teaching first-
through eighth-grades in Charlevoix County. Vera also enjoyed her grandchildren,
sewing, embroidering, tatting and baking cookies,
Vera is survived by four grandchildren. Vera (Jerry) Keie of Charlevoix Kristin
(Jerry) Schmidt of Orlando. Fla.. Karla (Martin) Fassett of Charlevoix, and Ken
(Laura) Gettelman of Abington, Md.; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces
and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter. Karen Deanne, on April
8, 1975.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m.. until service time at the
Winchester Funeral Home in Charlevoix.
